An African American female instructor with thirteen African American female students sitting at desks with typewriters and stationery at Western Baptist Seminary, 2119 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The instructor stands in the back left corner of the room. Samples of work are along the back wall. The students sit at the typewriter tables either typing or studying shorthand. Some of the typewriters are Lindenwood, Remington, and Royal typewriters.
