Details
The atomic glow in the western sky isn't from Bikini. It's coming from Hollywood where Ava Gardner has been making love to Burt Lancaster in Mark Hellinger's production of "The Killers." Based on the Ernest Hemmingway story, the film is full of danger and dramatics, violent romance and rugged action. It's a kiss of death Ava gives to Lancaster, since he, playing the role of Swede, is a bank robber and mobster who comes to a bullet-ridden end because of her. Lancaster makes his first film appearance in "The Killers." He is an ex-circus acrobat, ex-G.I. and ex-Broadway actor who is co-starred with Ava and Edmond O'Brien in the Hellinger production (from photo caption).
