Details
Two men squat by the wall of the ablution fountain to wash as other men walk away from the fountain; one drying his face. One man stands on the stairs to the entrance of Yeni Cami (New Mosque), or Valide Sultan Mosque, Constantinople, Turkey. The doorways, windows, and open air walkways are covered in archways. Printed in handwritten white ink in the bottom, left-hand corner of the photograph, "154. Fontaineş deş Ablutionş de la Moşquée-Validé, Şébah & Joaillier."
