Details
The harbor in front of the Maria elevator, a Victorian building in Stockholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. A neo-Gothic style building with pointed arched windows, pinnacles and turrets that provides a way from the waterfront to the city above. A few small, steamships are docked along the shore in the foreground of the photograph. Goods wait on the shore to be loaded and moved on. Horses hitched to wagons wait by the goods on shore. Tall Victorian buildings loom on the hills above the harbor in the background of the photograph. Printed along the bottom of the photograph in white ink, "4051. Stockholm. Mariahissen. Foto. af. Axel Lindahl 1898."
