Details
The interior of a room from Oktorpsgården at Skansen, Stockholm. Embroidered cloth lines the ceiling, that follows the roofline, from the peak, down the angle to the wall, and the bench that surrounds the perimeter of the room. The other angle of the ceiling holds a skylight with panes. Large beams span the ceiling in both directions. A door on the front of the house, sits between two sleeping chambers with curtains. A wooden table with wooden bench seats sits in the corner of the room. A longcase clock stands against the far wall by the entrance to another room. Three chairs sit in this room along the walls. One can be converted into a low table. Plates on shelves line one wall up to the point of the ceiling. Skansen is the oldest open-air museum and zoo in Sweden, located on the island Djurgården in Stockholm, Sweden. Printed in white ink in the margin below the photograph, "4220. Stockholm, Skansen, Oktorpsgården, interiör. Foto. of Axel Lindahl 1898."
