Details
Many people walk on the road inside the Jaffa Gate from above. Also to be seen are a ladened camel, a few people carrying umbrellas against the sun, and two men standing on a third story balcony observing what is going on below. The parapets of the city wall can be seen in the top background of the photograph. On the left side of the road are a few shops with low roofs with signs advertising that the business is a barber and another place offering haircuts. On the right side of the road are stone buildings, one advertising their business on the awning hanging over the doorway. Printed below the photograph, "Damiani. Jérusalem. 15 Porte de Jaffa interieur. — Jaffa gate interior. "
