Details
The manger in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Four lamps or incense burners sit along the back of the manger. A cage is long across the front of the manger. An embroidered cloth hangs on the wall behind the manger. Several crosses are carved into the rock of the support column and the manger itself. Printed along the bottom of the photograph in white ink, "The Manger, Church of the Nativity. 289.A. La Crêche." Printed on the bottom, right-hand corner in white ink script. "American Colony, Jerusalem."
