The central police station and police court in Singapore, Singapore, is a large, European-style, Victorian building standing beside the busy, wide, unpaved street. Many carriages, rickshaws, and carts move along the street as well as people walking; some using umbrellas; some using neck yokes with hanging baskets on either side of the person. Large trees stand in the yard of the police court. People rest under the trees. Oxen pull one heavily loaded cart in the center of the photograph. Printed in white ink script on the bottom left-hand corner of the photograph, "Central Police St. & Police Court. 64." Also embossed on the bottom left-hand corner, "GR Lambert & Co. Singapore."
