Het Steen [The rock] in Antwerp, Belgium, is a medieval fortress made of stone with a bridge that once crossed a moat, many towers with conical roofs, one tower with a parapet on top, and many embrasures of different shapes and sizes in the walls. Printed in white ink in the bottom margin below the photograph, "No 140 Anvers. — l'Ancien Bourg du Steen G.H. Phot."
