A soldier sweeps the cobblestones of the Place des Palais in front of the Royal Palace of Brussels in Brussels, Belgium. A guard shack sits on either side of the entrance to the palace. A few of the windows on the second floor are open. The building and the windows are all squared off, but at the center of the palace front are arched openings supporting six columns that support a deck at the height of the roof. A concrete fence with columns on each side of two gates is on the right side of the photograph. Printed in white ink in the margin below the photograph, "No 1257 Buxelles — Le Palais du Roi G.H.
