Details
The tomb of Napoleon I in the dome of the National Residence of the Invalids (Hôtel des Invalides) in Paris, France, contains his sarcophagus of quartzite resting on a granite base. Two of the sculpted marble angels are seen in the photograph, each standing by a column surrounding the sarcophagus that support the dome. A vase between each column holds flags. Printed in white ink along the bottom of the photograph, "39. PARIS. - (Hôtel des Invalides). Le Tombeau de Napoléon 1er. X. Phot."
