A view of the Gothic-style Church of Saint-Maclou in Rouen, France, from Place Barthélémy. This view is the west façade in which a rose window opens behind one of the gables above a bay. In front of this façade opens a porch with five bays arranged in an arc, surmounted by openwork gables. The three central bays house three portals, two of which are decorated with carved wooden doors. A combination bell tower and lantern tower rises high above the western façade. A covered cart is parked on the left side of the cobblestone street, Place Barthélémy. Four-story buildings are on either side of the lane. The shops of hatter, Prince Eugene, is on both sides of the lane with some goods displayed on the sidewalk. Printed in white ink along the bottom of the photograph, "l'Église Saint-Maclou."
