The queen's apartments face east over the Fountain Garden. The suites are linked by a gallery running the length of the east façade. There are repetitive balustrade atop a long flat skyline. This is repeated as the façade turns the corner from the east to the south fronts. Further diversion is added by the circular and decorated windows of the second-floor mezzanine. This theme is repeated in the inner Fountain Court around the fountain. Round flowerbeds surround the fountain. A column stands in the foreground of the fountain. The ground floor towards the court being occupied by a cloister. The bays forming a symmetrical composition. The piers between the gateways being of Portland stone with drafted joints and serving as plinths for half columns of the Corinthian order, which with their cornice frieze and architrave occupy the full height of the first floor. In each bay between the columns are tall stone framed sash windows on the second floor surmounted by cornices. The attic windows are square, fitted with sashes like the others, and the heavy sash bars. The ground-floor windows have low arched heads with carved keystones.
