Details
Unidentified group standing in front of inner Temple of the Tooth (Dalada Maligawa) in Kandy, Sri Lanka [then Ceylon]. Six men stand in front of a porch above and behind them that completely surrounds the building. Columns on the porch support a second story. Each column has a fresco at the top. There are 12 square or rectangular works of art imbedded in each wall around the building. A railing supported by spindles surrounds the balcony of the second story which also surrounds the entire building. The eaves of the second story are highly decorated. Thuribles hang from the highly decorated eaves all the way around the first floor. Another building, behind and beside, surrounds this one. A palm tree's leaves can be seen above the outer building on the left side of the photograph. Printed in white ink on the left bottom of the photograph, "Kandy. Inner Temple of the Tooth. No. 512." Printed in white ink on the bottom right-hand corner of the photograph, "C. A. Co. Ltd."
