Details
An unidentified Sri Lankan man stands with his hand resting on his hip along a lane that passes under the split roots and trunk of a banyan tree. Each side of the lane is covered by a Banyan tree canopy in Sri Lanka [then Ceylon]. A gated opening is behind the man and a roof is behind and to the left of the man. Embossed in the lower left-hand corner, "Apothecaries Co Ltd, Photographers, Colombo, Ceylon."
