The Grand Oriental Hotel and street intersection in Colombo, Sri Lanka [then Ceylon]. People stand in the road by the side of the hotel on the left side of the photograph. A man pulling a rickshaw, a loaded cart being attended two by several men, and a carriage also use the street. A sign hangs from the eve over street, "Ceylon Views." On the right side of the photograph, a horse and carriage stand in front of the hotel. The sign at the top of the hotel is partially out of the photograph. We are able to see "Grand Orient Hotel.' Printed in white ink on the bottom left-hand corner, "C. A. Co. LTD." Printed in white ink on the bottom center, "Columbo, No. 77."
