Details
Temple of the Tooth (Dalada Maligawa) in Kandy, Sri Lanka [then Ceylon], is surrounded by a moat that has a parapet between the moat and the lane and then between the most and the temple on the left side of the photograph. An octagonal building with a pointed roof stands toward the left center of the photograph. A square gateway over the moat with arched doorways is built into the parapet around the temple. A man on a horse-drawn carriage is coming down the lane by the steps into the gateway. another man walks down the lane in the center of the photograph. On the right side of the photograph, two men stand in a park between to street lights and below a pole of prayer flags hung on circular wire around the pole. A conical structure looms behind them. Printed in white ink along the bottom of the photograph, "Dalada Maligawa - Temple of the Tooth, Kandy." Printed in white ink on the left-hand corner, "C. A. Co. LTD."
