Details
A Tamil woman laborer looks down as she is plucking tea leaves from a tea bush in Sri Lanka [then Ceylon]. She carries a basket from a strap around her waist for the harvested leaves. She wears earrings with a necklace attached between the two earrings. Printed below the photograph in white ink, "Tamil Cooly Plucking Tea Leaf. Co. CEYLON."
