Two unidentified men in traditional clothing stand along the walkway with the wall, Walakulu Bamma, between them and Kandy Lake in Sri Lanka {then Ceylon]. A row of trees separates the walkway from the lane. An unidentified woman holding an open umbrella, walks on the lane toward the camera. A carriage going away from the camera is on the lane near a building on the right. On the other side of the lane, on the right side of the photograph, is a statue of Sir Henry Ward standing on a monument in a small park.
