Details
Panoramic photograph of Széchényi Chain Bridge, that joins Buda and Pest in Hungary by crossing the Danube River. In the center back of the photograph among the buildings of Pest, St. Stephen's Basilica looms above the skyline. Two sculpted lions on pedestals guard the entrance to the bridge. People are blurred in the photograph as they cross the bridge by either walking on the sidewalks on the left and right sides of the road down the center or walking, pushing a cart, or riding on the road in the center. Ships are parked along the far side of the river. Printed in the margin on the below left of the photograph, "4626. Budapest. Panorama von der k. Burg mit Kettenbrücke." Printed in the margin on the below right of the photograph, "Verlag von Stengel & Markert, Dresden."
