People and a dog stand and walk along the sidewalks on either side of the road leading through the Buda Castle Tunnel in Budapest, Hungary. Carriages, a pushcart, and a man on a horse use the road that leads through the tunnel. A man with a sword at his side hanging from a belt and wearing a backpack, stands in the middle of the road looking at the camera. Two billboard type signs are on the wall to the left of the tunnel but are not fully visible. All that is visible on the top is Krayer E. esT. All that is visible on the bottom is owasser J. There is a large post to post to advertising bills on the left side of the sidewalk next to a triple streetlight. A staircase leads up the mountain to the castle on top of the tunnel on the left side of the photograph. Printed in the margin on the below left of the photograph, "4636. Budapest. Alagut-Buda. — Tunnel in Ofen. Printed in the margin on the below right of the photograph, "Verlag von Stengel & Markert, Dresden."
