Five African American male fire fighters in their uniforms, pose for a photograph with a fire engine. Two fire fighters sit in the driver's and passenger's seats of the fire engine while two stand along the side and one stands on the back running board just outside the garage door opening to Engine House No. 1. The letters painted on the hood of the fire engine are K.C.F.D. The building behind the fire engine and next door to the fire house has "Wholesale Dickerson Cleaning" painted on the brick wall.
