Hank Ballard sings into a microphone on the left side of the photograph as the Midnighters, a rhythm and blues band comprised of four African American men, dance and sing around one central microphone on the right side of the photograph. The African American band all wear checked jackets, dark pants, and white shoes. A trumpet player and drums are behind them.
