Details
Ted Malone stands with his right foot resting on a display base and his right hand lifted to rest on the full-size cross section of the main cable of the Golden Gate Bridge. He wears a fedora hat, a necktie, and a suit with his left hand tucked into the suit jacket pocket. A sign attached to the top of the wire housing states, "Main cable section. Golden Gate Bridge (Longest span in the world 4200 feet) Contains 27,252 wires. Length of wire 80,000 mi. Weight 3000 lb. per lin. ft. Total weight cables 23,250 tons. John A. Roebling's Sons contractor." The bridge is in the background.
