Plaque on home of Paul Laurence Dunbar in Dayton, Ohio states, "Home of Paul Laurence Dunbar. 1872. 1906. "Because I had loved so deeply. Because I had loved so long. God in HIS great compassion gave me a gift of song." Erected by Boy Scouts Y.M.C.A. Troop No. 30. June 27, 1921."
