The side of the Philip Freneau house in Matawan, New Jersey. A porch with ornate scroll-work along the roofline, fenced in with light-colored columns and a dark-colored bannister, spans around the two sides of the house visible in the photograph. There are two front, floor-to-ceiling windows on the first floor, and a screened-in porch to the right. The second story has three floor-to-ceiling windows and three transom windows above each large window.
