Details
A photograph of a statue of the Virgin and Child created in Lichtenthal, Baden, Germany has the virgin wearing a headscarf and robes as she is seated in a chair holding baby Jesus on her lap. Jesus, with a full head of hair, is turned on his side out toward the viewers, wearing a diaper and holding an object in his hand. It was on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the Cloisters in New York in December 1953.
