Handwritten on back, "#2 The first step in preparing the forest giant for its 42-mile trip to Rockefeller Center was to bind the large lower branches, some of which were 16 feet in length, to the trunk to prevent damage to them in transit. This operation was also necessary to permit passage on the highway, under highway bridges and over the George Washington Bridge from New Jersey to New York City. The route to be taken was carefully selected in advance to prevent traffic tie-ups."
