Notes

December 1953

Typewritten note attached to back, "#11 A scaffold, six stories high, is erected around the 1953 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree to facilitate the week-long job of decorating the tree by a crew of twenty men. In addition to the 6,500 twinkling lights, 6,000 shimmering aluminum icicles will be hung on the tree, and a battery of colored floodlights installed at the base to bathe the tree in glowing holiday colors at night."
