Kansas City, No. 9 - AN EVENING OUT SPOILED - Mrs. Harry Truman and Richard Bolling, representative in Congress from the 5th district of Missouri, followed by former President Harry Truman, walk from the Hotel Muehlebach after a banquet they were to attend was canceled. Vice President Lyndon Johnson was to be the principal speaker. A fire in the hotel coffee shop filled the building with smoke causing evacuation of the guests and cancelation of the dinner (photo caption).
